About Mark and David

Two people who did the thing they're now teaching. Mark went from 152kg to 90kg. David leads the strength side.

Fitmaxxing is two people. That is the whole company.

Mark

Started at 152kg. Currently 90kg. That is 62kg gone, and kept off.

He leads the fat loss side, and works with men at the heaviest end of the scale for two reasons: it is the version he did himself, and it is the group most badly served by conventional advice. The one-to-two-pounds-a-week rule that gets handed to everybody was never written for a man at 150kg, and following it costs him years he did not need to spend.

Most of what is on this site exists because Mark was given advice calibrated for somebody else, and had to work out the rest himself.

David

David leads the strength side. Once someone is lean, he takes over — and he is genuinely strong by a standard most people in a commercial gym never encounter.

He has also lost a significant amount of fat himself, so the handover is not from someone who has only ever been in shape.

Two of us, on purpose

Most one-man fitness brands claim both halves and are genuinely good at one. We say plainly who does what: Mark takes you from obese to lean. David takes you from lean to strong.

Neither of us answers for the other. If you ask Mark a programming question he will point you at David, and it works the other way round too. That is not modesty — it is the reason either answer is worth having.

What we're not

We are body composition people — fat, muscle and strength. We are not doctors, dietitians, or registered practitioners, and we do not present ourselves as any of those things.

What we have is lived experience of doing the hard version of this, and a track record of taking other people through it. For our audience that is a stronger credential than a certificate. It also has real limits, and we stay inside them: anything to do with your health, your bloods or your medication is a conversation for your GP, and we will tell you so rather than guess.
